The Freischlag Tower features an enhanced patient experience, cutting-edge technologies, and innovative treatments. The tower includes a 45-bed adult emergency department—with 4 trauma rooms and private bays; 62 private pre-operative and post-operative acute care bays; 28 state-of-the-art operating rooms—with 2 endovascular hybrid suites; plus a private, spacious intensive care unit (ICU). Within the ICU there are 16 trauma ICU rooms and 28 cardiovascular ICU rooms. The Freischlag Tower provides care for the most complex health needs. Best explained as a “ship in a bottle,” the building of this tower—within a very tight space while keeping the day-to-day operations of the hospital going—was an engineering success. The outdoor pathway and gardens allow community members a peaceful place to pause.
