Bolstering STEM programs at Elon University, Founders Hall and Innovation Hall are integral components of the Innovation Quad. Founders Hall is a 20,000 sq ft two-story building. It houses the Engineering Program and features labs for design, prototyping, and virtual reality. Innovation Hall—a 45,000 sq ft three-story building—supports the Department of Physics and Engineering with spaces for bioinstrumentation, research, and flexible classrooms. Both buildings reflect the campus’s classical Georgian style and incorporate modern features like exposed steel and concrete interiors. The project achieved LEED Gold certification, thanks to sustainable features such as dual bioCells, a SmartFlower solar device, and efficient landscaping that reduces water use.
