Urban Park

Located in downtown Winston-Salem, between Third and Fourth Street, Merschel Park lies in the center of the Historic Pepper Building/Indigo Hotel, future Hyatt Place, and the Kaleideum Museum. Named after former city council member, Wanda Merschel, the Park will include lots of greenery, spaces for outdoor dining, and features that honor the contribution of women to the city’s civic life. Collaborating with the Kaleideum’s design team, Stimmel is exploring ideas to enhance the Kaleideum visitor experience by channeling visitors through the passive park to the north and the active park to the east. The two parks will provide very different experiences and amenities but in concert will provide a tremendous resource for Kaleideum and the City of Winston-Salem.
