Kaleideum Downtown

Children's Museum

Winston-Salem, NC

“

Museums are catalysts for thriving communities. After weeks of adjusting to our new norms, a contemporary, interactive museum of arts, sciences & exploration as an accessible destination in the heart of downtown becomes even more important. Our team is excited to move into this new phase of our organization & to share with this community we love a visual manifestation of the values & identity of Kaleideum. After all, we are a place where individuals of all ages can challenge themselves, push boundaries, ask questions & engage with their surroundings.”

Cultural

Forsyth County is currently renovating the existing Children’s Museum of Winston-Salem and Sci-Works into a 5-story, 70,000 sq. ft innovative children’s museum. Located downtown Winston-Salem, the science center & children’s museum will serve as a unique educational attraction as well as an anchor for other initiatives.

The 2 existing museums began talks of a possible collaboration in early 2015, with a mission of “Inspiring wonder, curiosity, & lifelong learning in our children & community through interactive play & discovery.” The new family destination will be a link between the arts and cultural district to the north and the more historic and civic district to the south. It will be flanked by two public spaces, Merschel Park and Liberty Plaza.
