SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER
Charlotte, NC

We are searching for a Senior Civil Engineer within the greater Charlotte, NC area. This position will lead the Charlotte office’s site engineering department in the design of various land development projects within the following sectors: commercial, industrial, healthcare, senior living, residential, & higher education.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Independently lead & manage the Charlotte engineering department.
  • Oversee all phases of land development projects, from conception through completion.
  • Manage workflow & tasks related to the development of construction drawings, specifications, engineering calculations, & construction services, including review of submittals, responding to RFIs, construction inspections, etc.
  • Ensure projects meet all technical specifications, budgets, timelines, & regulatory requirements.
  • Develop & implement best practices, innovative solutions, & quality control measures.
  • Understand all facets of the site design process & delivery, including cross-discipline coordination.
  • Develop & foster repeat business from Clients.
  • Support business development efforts.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including staff scheduling, proposal writing, billings, & other duties as needed.
  • Serve as the Engineer of Record on projects.
  • Regional travel is expected.
What you need for this position
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Land Development design.
  • Direct experience within the Charlotte/Mecklenburg County, NC market is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related degree.
  • PE License is required.
  • Excellent organizational, written & verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage clients, projects, staff & work effectively in a team environment.
  • Software Proficiency: Microsoft Office products; knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D & Hydrology Studio. Experience with Newforma & EPANet 2.2 is preferred.
PROJECT ENGINEER
WINSTON-SALEM, NC | Charlotte, NC

We are searching for a creative team member with experience & interest in site engineering for single family & multi-family residential, commercial healthcare, university/higher education, & industrial projects.

What you need for this position
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience in site engineering design for Residential, Commercial, Higher Education, Healthcare & Industrial projects.
  • Proficiency in the design & production of site construction drawings, including site layout, erosion control, grading, storm drainage, stormwater management SCM’s & utility plans.
  • Understanding & proficiency in performing hydrologic & hydraulic analysis & design associated with storm drainage, stormwater management & water distribution systems.
  • Strong critical thinking skills for analyzing & solving engineering problems.
  • Ability to research & apply Municipal, County & State zoning ordinances, design standards & requirements.
  • Experience in permitting at the Municipal, County & State levels.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related degree.
  • PE License required for Project Engineer position.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a willingness to learn & adapt to Company design & drawing standards.
  • Software Proficiency preferred: AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydrology Studio, Newforma, EPANet 2.2 & Microsoft Excel.

This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in land development & site engineering while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative environment. As a Civil Engineering Intern, you will assist with pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modifications, permitting, and overall project support. Under the guidance of our engineers, you’ll gain practical experience in site development while contributing to real-world projects.

What you need for this position
  • Rising junior or master’s student pursuing a Civil Engineering or related degree from an accredited university
  • Interest in land development & site engineering
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Basic understanding of grading, drainage, water, and sewer design
