After leaving his Midwestern roots, & making home in the great state of North Carolina, Doug Stimmel founded Stimmel Associates in 1986. He leveraged over 37 years of experience in Landscape Architecture & Land Planning to make Stimmel an award-winning design firm before handing over the reins in 2021. Through Doug’s leadership, Stimmel has received accolades such as a Top 100 North Carolina Small Business.
Stimmel’s leadership team adds seven partners who have a combined tenure of over 200 years at Stimmel. Partners include Tim Jennings, Neal Tucker, Kelway Howard III, Luke Dickey, Christy Turner, Kimberly Barb & Jessie Lester. The expansion of Stimmel’s leadership team is part of the company’s planned management succession that ensures the company’s sustainability & growth in the coming decades & beyond.
With several major clients & projects in the Charlotte market, Stimmel opened its second office in West Charlotte. The addition allows Stimmel to continue to focus on further augmenting current relationships while identifying new opportunities in the booming development region.
Tim is just the 2nd president of the 38-year-old company. He has been with Stimmel for 36 years & has served as Vice President for the past 25 years. Tim is a member of the Stimmel executive management team, which is comprised of newly appointed Vice Presidents: Neal Tucker, Kelway Howard, & Luke Dickey, as well as Partners: Christy Turner, Kimberly Barb & Jessie Lester.
Dan announced as a Partner & joined the 38-year-old company’s executive management team. He has over 29 years’ experience partnering with private & public clients to develop character-driven, innovative design solutions & creates exceptionally engaging spaces on both large & small-scale projects. Dan leads the company’s Land Planning & Landscape Architecture team in the Charlotte market.
