The Piedmont Triad Research Park is a 210+/- acre Business Technology and Medical Research Park located in the heart of Winston-Salem.  The Park is comprised of three districts:

The Northern District is a Mixed-Use adaptive re-use of the former RJ Reynolds tobacco manufacturing facility and warehouses fusing public and private biomedical academic and research amenities with urban living.

The Central District is the future Wake Forest University Health Sciences Biomedical Research Campus.  The 42+ acre, mixed-use urban infill project will provide office, classroom and lab space for university - related biomedical research.  Additional building space is planned for future biotechnology and related research and technology firms, as well as, medical offices, shared research laboratories and first floor retail at key locations.

The Southern District will contain biomedical research and development office uses associated with Winston-Salem State University, public/private research and corporate office/bio-manufacturing uses with lots for incubator start-up research facilities and businesses.

The master plan addresses vehicular and pedestrian circulation, including pedestrian bridge connection,  shared/structured parking, future mass transit location, building use recommendations, sustainable design elements, streetscape identity, building relationships to street, district identification/signage locations, 3 acre park and greenway through site to connect downtown to existing/planned Salem Creek/Bath Creek greenway.
